Job Description
Stoke City Football Club of the English Premier League are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Full Time Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach to improve performance and reduce injury through developing, implementing and evaluating strength and conditioning programmes that reflect scientific principles.
As a Strength and Conditioning Coach you will be required to deliver individual and group strength and conditioning sessions to all Academy players with a focus on the under 12-16 age groups. A full understanding of key physiological areas of long term player development, growth and maturation is essential.
The role requires working in a multi disciplinarily team and the ability to support on-field conditioning and rehabilitation in conjunction with medical staff will be a key requirement. You will also be required to provide strength and conditioning support at tournaments as well as attending national and regional meetings and workshops, training courses as appropriate.
Reporting to the Head of Academy Sports Science and Athletic Development, ideal candidates will be UKSCA Accredited or able to show evidence of completion within 6 months, and hold a relevant degree in Strength and Conditioning/Sports Science.
Significant previous experience in the provision of strength and conditioning services to young elite athletes is essential as well as having extensive understanding of developing athletic qualities that provide young soccer players with the physical abilities to play at an elite level is key.
The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator who is able to deliver specific information not only to young players but also to coaching staff as well.
