Academy Therapist – Bradford City AFC

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Bradford City Football Club to join the medical department as a part time academy therapist ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

Role:
To provide first aid cover for evening academy matches and training.
To assess and treat injuries sustained by players within the Under 9 to Under 16 age groups.

Main Duties:
Provide competent pitch-side first aid to academy players from age groups U9-U16 at the club
where necessary.
To assess players fitness and injury status. This may involve assessment/discussion with players and their family doctors.
Plan treatment programmes for injured players and advise the suitable member of coaching staff re player’s availability to train/play .
Provide and use the appropriate medical equipment as necessary.
Provide the appropriate range and quantity of treatments utilising current literature..
To maintain appropriate liaison with the necessary staff.
Maintenance on contemporary, legible and appropriate medical records, audits, registers and their confidential storage using the PMA where needed.
Have an understanding of the requirements and compliance with EPPP.

Person Specification:
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or similar degree for example Sports Therapy.
Membership of Health Professions Council (HCPC).
Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Appropriate first aid course (FA ATMIFF/ITMIFF).
Appropriate child protection/Disclosure certification.
UK Full Driving License
