Analyst, Portfolio Management – EMEA – EBRD

 

Purpose of Job
The Analyst will assist the Portfolio Management EMEA team with data analysis and reporting whilst building their knowledge of and assisting in the management of the Bank’s local currency market FX, interest rate and liquidity risks.
Given the strategic importance of local currency financing for EBRD, the role is key to help the Portfolio Management EMEA team report both internally and externally on the local currency activity, as well as support the day to day work of the team.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The Analyst, Portfolio Management – EMEA will:
Support the team by developing, improving (where possible automating) and maintaining risk reports feeding from various different sources that are necessary to support both the day to day and reporting of the desk.
Produce and maintain a dashboard summarising the main risks outlined in the different reports
Produce, improve, maintain and analyse reports on local currency transactions and banking pipeline. This will require on-going scrutiny and cross checking of data between Treasury (Summit) and Banking (DTM) systems as well as liaising internally with relevant team.
Run daily and ad-hoc reports and analyse data as required,
Support the development of the team’s Intranet content and other communications, liaising with team members and with the Communications department to ensure timely delivery.
Help in the tracking of all relevant developments in the relevant local currency markets and produce a write-up of main market developments for internal purposes as required,
Help with day-to-day operations as required,
Help expanding the framework necessary to manage the local currency funding and lending books. This will imply negotiating legal agreements and seeking necessary approvals so that EBRD can be in a position to access domestic markets.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated analytical skills to deliver insight on qualitative and quantitative organisational data to drive decision making.
Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, gain credibility and establish trust quickly
Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving and asks the right questions to get at the deeper-level “why”.
Highly numerical and analytical with a focussed attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to find solutions, and recognise when to escalate or redirect a query.
Excellent team player essential.

Experience using Excel (some VBA) and interfaces between systems
Excellent communication skills, fluent in English language, with good presentation skills
A second language of one of EBRD’s Countries of Operation is highly desirable, preferably Russian, French and/or Arabic.
