Aquatics Officer – GLL

Job Description
The iconic London Aquatics Centre, set within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is looking for an Aquatics Officer to work 40 hours per week. Better leisure centres, operated by GLL, run the UK’s largest public swimming lesson programme in the UK. The London Aquatics Centre is home to over 5,000 pupils attending swimming lessons and the Tom Daley Diving Academy each week with a team of ‘best in class’ Swimming Teachers working to provide invaluable life skills to our customers.
The Aquatics Officer is a role model and the vital link between our customers, the swimming teachers and the leisure centre team. This key role provides technical and administration support to Swim School, School Swimming and Tom Daley Diving Academy, helping to ensure a high-quality, consistent level of customer service. Your role will bring organisation and structure to the Swim School and School Swimming as you develop a plan to manage the programme, lead and inspire your swimming teachers and grow the income and number of pupils learning to swim. This role offers a real opportunity to affect positive change at a world class venue for aquatics in a busy working environment.
You’ll no doubt be an experienced swimming teacher looking for the next stage in your career and be full of ideas of how to make things better with an in depth knowledge of the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway. You will be an inspirational leader for your team, with experience in programme delivery and evaluation and excellent customer service skills.
We’ll offer in-house training to support you with your role as well development opportunities such as ‘train the trainer’ and the STA Tutor training programme. It goes without saying that you’ll be a CIMSPA professional standard Level 2 (STA or Swim England) swimming teacher and be familiar with online booking systems, the customer service environment and be computer literate.
