The University has recently made significant investment into sporting facilities with a £1.2 million gym and studio refurbishment, along with a new boathouse and hockey pitch. Further projects are also planned in line with our strategic plan; offering exciting opportunities for future development.
The Edge provides a state of the art 250 station fitness suite, a 25 metre 8 lane swimming pool, sauna, steam room, 4 studios, indoor climbing wall, squash courts and the largest indoor sports hall in Leeds. These facilities cater for over 16,000 members and users from a variety of backgrounds from international and student athletes to members of the local community. Our fitness suite is one of the busiest in the country and our class programme is the largest in the higher education sector with over 150 classes taking place each week in term time. We also operate a large Personal Training programme, GP referral and additional therapies offering including physiotherapy and massage.
We are now looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Manager to have overall accountability for the facilities element of the business. You will have substantial experience of operating and managing a Sports facility including a swimming pool, with experience of leading, motivating, developing and managing a large team. You will also have demonstrable experience of successful business development and have a relevant Operational or Fitness industry qualification.
Based on a 35 hour working week, you will be required to work on a shift based system which will include working early mornings, evenings, and weekends, University closed days and Bank Holidays.
