Assistant Rugby Coach/Mentor – Mad Dog Sport

Job Description
This is a brilliant opportunity to become part of Mad Dog Sport, owned by former England Rugby International, Lewis Moody, which integrates full time 6th form Rugby programmes into State Schools and Academies. The programmes sit alongside academic studies; A’levels and BTECS, with a focus on character building and keeping boys in education, using rugby as a tool.
We are looking for a new team member who wants to challenge themselves, develop their skills and gain experience as a coach and mentor at our Mad Dog programme based out of Park House School, Newbury.
Applicants will need to be passionate and focused about the development of young players between the ages of 16-18 years old, both on and off the field, as well as have the ability to coach and inspire young players between 11-15 years old. A large part of the role is pastoral care. They will also need to be extremely organised and efficient with their administration skills.
Successful applicants will be supported and helped to develop as a coach and encouraged to pursue further CPD courses and coaching qualifications through the RFU, as well as receive CPD’s with our Head of Athletic Development.

The Assistant Coach role minimum requirement:
Aged 21 or over
RFU Award (formally known as, Level 2) qualification or equivalent
Evidence of coaching experience
Excellent organisational, administration and communication skills
A positive and encouraging attitude towards character development in young men.
Full clean Driving license
First aid qualifications (will be provided if not up to date)
Mad Dog Sport is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults. Successful candidates will be offered the role but will need to be DBS Advance checked before being confirmed in position. If required, all Mad Dog coaching staff are put through a first aid course, specifically for sport.

Job Description:
To assist the Head coach in delivering the coaching values, skills and training as laid out in the Mad Dog Rugby Syllabus, including the set up/pack down of training sessions and the management of all equipment.
Support the Head coach in team selection, attending match day fixtures and conducting post match analysis through video footage.
Assist in the delivery of the Athletic Development programmes provided.
Assist in the delivery of wellness workshops.
General administration duties, organisation of fixtures and tournaments.
Social media updates.
Some travel will be required but mainly based out of Park House School, Newbury.
The position will commence from the 13th January 2020.
Job Type: Part-time – 32 hours p/w, (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) Over 10 weeks holiday per year. Some out of hours work required, with notice.
Salary: £15,500.00 /year + pension and CPD’s.
