Job Description
London City Royals compete in the British Basketball League.
We are seeking an experienced Sports Therapist/Physiotherapist to work with the squad on game days and training sessions for the 2019/2020 season.
This is an opportunity for a Sports Therapist/Sports Rehabilitation/Physiotherapist to expand on their current knowledge and develop new skills at a professional basketball club. Graduates with good university placements may also be considered.
The successful candidate will be expected to (but not limited to) carry out the following duties:
• Oversee games, including assessment and treatment until return to play.
• Work closely with the management team, the club coach, club captain, medical staff and strength and conditioning staff.
• Implement injury reduction strategies.
• Ensure that all medical notes are kept up to date.
This role will allow the therapist to practically enhance their skills and bring new ideas to the team, during training sessions and games.
The successful candidate must be able to manage their working week and be flexible to cope with the varying demands of the job.
This position is on a part-time basis* and will include evening and weekend work.
*There may be the possibility of a full time position with the club or in a self employed capacity, depending on the candidate, and this can be discussed at the interview stage.
Person Specification (Essential):
• Degree in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy
• Experience of working within a Sports club
• Full UK Driving license.
• Insurance with relevant provider.
• Flexible but professional approach to working independently and as part of the wider team
• Excellent time management and verbal and written communication skill
