Badminton Regional Development Officer (Grampian) – Badmintonscotland – Aberdeen

Job Description

BADMINTONscotland, the National Governing Body for badminton in Scotland, wishes to appoint a Regional Development Officer. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to grow the sport in the Grampian Regional Sporting Partnership area working within sportscotland’s Regional Sporting Partnership infrastructure.

The key objectives include:
• To grow active club membership.
• To lead the delivery of the BADMINTONscotland National Strategy 2015-19 in the local area.
• To create and develop partnerships with and between schools, clubs, local authorities and higher and further education.
• To identify and develop a club which provides a suitable environment to develop athletes to performance level.
• To work with badminton clubs to ensure their affiliation to BADMINTONscotland and their ongoing development

The successful candidate must have the following experience:
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent. If no formal qualification, exceptional but appropriate work experience.
• Experience of badminton.
• Knowledge of development issues within sport.
• Proven managerial experience of people, projects and events.

The post is offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract and will be subject to regular reviews.

In accordance with BADMINTONscotland’s Child Protection Policy and Guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
