BTEC Sports Tutor – Premier League Football Club – Let Me Play

Job Description
The Sports Tutor will be working within our Education Department to run and deliver BTEC Level 3 programmes in association our Premier League partner. The role will require the successful candidate to have a good understanding of the delivery of BTEC and NVQ Level 3 sport programmes as well as the Physical Education national curriculum. The Sports Tutor will inspire and ensure that every young person that goes through either a Level 3 programme with us will have an opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• To graduate a minimum number of young people from the course, number to be agreed with line manager ahead of course delivery.
• To lead the tutoring of the qualifications, through having planned lessons, and to ensure these are engaging, creative and in line with our quality assurance process.
• To mark and assess work of the learners and where necessary assist those who need extra support by delivering small group work.
• To work as part of a bigger Education Department Team and contribute to the development of the department, including lesson plans and development of work books.
• To support the participation, retention and progression of learners in their courses and to encourage learners to pursue further education, training or employment on finishing the course.
• To keep proper and accurate records and registers, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of learners’ progression, and to support the writing of reports as required.
• To attend and engage in all relevant staff meetings, and maintain effective communication with staff, learners and other relevant educational organisations.
• To deliver inclusive and high-quality courses, materials and opportunities to all learners and to liaison with the Education and Quality Assurance Managers to ensure and address the quality of work offered, and actively seek to eliminate any indirect or direct discriminatory practice or behaviours.
• To undertake training and CPD as necessary and relevant to the post.
• During times when centres are not operational to contribute to the organisation as a whole and assist with provision.
• To be familiar with the LMP Code of Conduct and all operational, Health & Safety, Child Protection and Data Protection policies.
• To answer and respond to emails in a timely manner.
• To attend departmental and office meetings as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The BTEC Level 3 Tutor must have a passion for working with young people, and be committed to raising standards, be reliable, enthusiastic and motivated. They must possess excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, ICT and management skills and be able to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff and the wider community. Knowledge of the IV and EV process is desirable as well as the PE National Curriculum.

Education and Experience
• Degree educated within the Sporting industry.
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 plus.
• Knowledge and Experience of BTEC Delivery.
• Assessor Award (Desirable)

Work Environment
Your work environment for the nature of this role is the education centre that we are operating out of at any given time. Your role will include working from the LMP head office and any other places that we are doing education delivery from. During holiday periods this will extend to working on additional programmes not related to education.
