Casual Physiotherapist – Sheffield United FC Academy

Job Description
Sheffield United Academy are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed physiotherapist’s to join our Part Time Medical Team for the forthcoming season. There is potential for up to 10 openings in this recruitment window. Successful candidates should be self-motivated and driven by both personal development and that of the players in our Academy system.

The main role of Part Time physiotherapy staff will include, but is not exclusive to:
• Providing home and away pitch-side medical cover of Saturday and Sunday fixtures across pre-Academy, Foundation and Youth phase age groups
• Opportunities to travel with teams to international tournaments
• Covering of nightly injury clinics
• Recording and maintaining accurate e-assessment notes and formulation of a Weekly Rehabilitation Plan for injured players
• Liaising with Full Time medical staff in the treatment and management of injured players
• Partake in weekly Continued Professional Development (CPD) including compulsory sports trauma teaching sessions

Our weekly CPD program is a free, modular resource aligned with the standards of the IFSPT and aims to facilitate the development of competent, creative and evidence-based members of the Medical Team. As such, we place a high value on prospective candidates having a drive for self-development and a willingness to be an active member in these CPD sessions.

There is also an opportunity to fund candidates to undertake the IFAS qualification.

There is also potential for outstanding candidates to work with our U-19 and SUFC Futures teams, dependent upon skillset and personal qualities.

Essential criteria for prospective candidates:
• Minimum BSc Physiotherapy – with CSP and HPC registration
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexibility of working hours as role requires

Desirable criteria for prospective candidates:
• IFAS qualification
• Experience in working in pitch side/ trauma settings
• Experience working in team sports
• Valid Safeguarding certificate
• Experience of working under EPPP guidelines
