Chair / Non-Executive Board Members – England Squash

Do you have a passion for sport and the drive to influence the strategic direction of a national governing body?

England Squash is seeking to appoint a new board made up of four Non-Executive Board Members and a Chair to make a significant contribution in maximising the opportunities for growth while delivering senior level expertise on strategy, finance and governance.

    About England Squash
England Squash is the national governing body for squash and racketball in England and is responsible for the organisation and promotion of the sports. The organisation works collaboratively to build a thriving and vibrant squash community while continuing to deliver elite success.

    About the board
The board operates alongside the Council in the governance of the organisation and has overall responsibility for the performance and direction of England Squash.

Led by the Chair, the board is made up of five members. The post is for a three year term, effective from March 2016. Post holders will be required to attend up to six board meetings per annum as well as the Annual General Meeting and two Council meetings.

The Chair will be required to establish a strong, supportive and constructive partnership with the CEO, and lead the board, ensuring that their skillsets are harnessed to secure the future success of the sport nationally, in accordance with the England Squash mission, strategy and values.

Alongside the Chair, the Non-Executive Directors will be involved in shaping the strategic aims of the organisation providing creative, informed and constructive input.

England Squash is looking to appoint to the board individuals with diverse, varied and complementary skillsets, who will match their business and commercial experience with a strong passion and commitment to the sport.

Specific experience in one or more of the following business/commercial disciplines is required: finance, marketing and communications, sponsorship and fundraising as well as individuals who have understanding and experience of what it takes to drive sports performance and participation at a national level.

Interviews will be held at the National Squash Centre, Manchester during January and February 2016.

Any appointment would take effect from March 2016.
