Charity Trustee – Amber Valley School Sports Partnership –

Job Description
The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the organisations aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
Amber Valley School Sport Partnership vision is ‘to provide as many high quality experiences for pupils in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity within Amber Valley’. We represent 68 schools in the borough and deliver sports coaching, competitions, health initiatives, holiday clubs and leadership opportunities to children aged 4 – 18 years old.

The main duties of the applicant would include
Ensuring the charity complies with legislative and regulatory requirements, and acts within the confines of its governing document and in furtherance to organisational activities contained therein.
Acting in the best interest of the charity, beneficiaries and future beneficiaries at all
times.
Promoting and developing the charity in order for it to grow and maintain its
relevance to society.
Maintaining sound financial management of the charity’s resources, ensuring
expenditures are in line with the organisations’ objects, and investment activities meet accepted
standards and policies.
The expectation on attendance to meetings is 6 times per year for an afternoon 12.30 – 4.30pm.
The particular skills we are hoping to acquire within the board are accountancy and finance, business management and marketing.
