Chief Commercial Officer
Warrington Wolves are seeking a dynamic entrepreneurial forward thinking Chief Commercial Officer to move the Club’s commercial activities and strategies into a new era.
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is jointly responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and future development of Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club commercial activities. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the CCO has overarching responsibility for all commercial operations and revenue-generating activities. The key areas of responsibility are: Membership & Ticketing/Sponsorship/Hospitality/Retail.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee all commercial and revenue-generating activities for the Club, through buy-in and agreement with the Board/Chief Executive.
Take the lead role in constructing and implementing a strategy to grow memberships and ticket sales.
Lead the Commercial Team in identifying and developing relationships with potential sponsors, pro-actively lead on contract negotiations and maintain strong and effective relationships with existing sponsors. Provide leadership to the Commercial Team to increase hospitality revenue whilst continuing to deliver a superior service.
Work with the Retail Team to develop and deploy a strategy that will maximise revenue streams for all retail operations.
Work with the Digital/Communication Team to further build the Club’s brand and reputation to help grow the fan bases locally, regionally and nationally.
As part of the Senior Management Team ensure that each commercial function operates to the highest standards and delivers the agreed objectives. Maintain and demonstrate a clear focus on return on investment in all commercial deals and operations.
Leadership
Work closely with the Senior Management Team to provide support and guidance to develop their commercial strategies and ensure their effective governance, commercial returns and quality of performance.
Provide clear, decisive, appropriate and respected direction and leadership towards the Commercial, Membership and Retail Team.
Set, agree and direct the business plans and budgets for each commercial department and direct report managers.
Set objectives for the Commercial, Membership and Retail Team and ensure the effective achievement of those objectives, providing leadership, guidance, motivation, feedback and support as required.
Implement regular reviews of progress and reporting on performance as an integral part of the club’s performance and management process.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Proven experience and success in a high profile, demanding and fast-paced commercial environment at an executive level.
Proven success at building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of an executive Leadership Team or Board. Evidence of delivering against strategic objectives and driving revenue growth.
Experienced in utilization of data analysis to support commercial strategies. The ability to be creative and innovative towards commercial activities.
Successful P&L experience in complex organisations with deep commercial knowledge and insight.
A proven track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with commercial partnerships and effective negotiations with sponsors.
Strong leader with experience of successfully leading and managing diverse teams.
Desirable
Experienced in working within a professional sporting environment.
Relevant Degree and Professional Qualifications.

Other Information
Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends.
The role is based at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington, Cheshire.
Remuneration
Dependent on candidate but extremely competitive.
