The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is a UK wide charity for families and individuals affected by retinoblastoma (Rb). We offer support and information, fund research and raise public awareness of this rare cancer. We also seek to influence the NHS to improve treatment and follow up experience for those affected by Rb.
After a period of sustained growth we are seeking to further extend our influence, increase service capacity, grow and diversify our income and develop external relationships and networks.
We are seeking an individual with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels as well as being able to understand the needs and perspectives of the people we support. It is essential that you have the ability to engage effectively and credibly with senior decision makers in the health service and the scientists we fund and collaborate with.
The ability to provide visible and inspiring leadership for our dedicated staff team and volunteers is of paramount importance. You will have experience in revenue generation at a senior level and be confident in developing a strong fundraising strategy for CHECT to take the charity to the next income level.
In addition to the relationship development skills and commercial acumen that are essential for effective business development and growth, you will need to demonstrate comparable senior management experience including strategic leadership responsibility, operational delivery and resource management.
There’s much for you to do and many opportunities on the horizon but you can count on the support of a committed staff team, a lively membership, numerous volunteers as well as an active and engaged Board of Trustees.
