Role:
The Premier League is looking to recruit a Coach Development Manager to support their mission of developing more and better Home Grown Players. This is an exciting new position within the Coaching function aimed at developing the World‘s Leading Youth Coaching Fraternity.

The recently launched Heads of Coaching project is a strategic priority for the Coaching function of the Premier League Football Development Department and the Coach Development Manager will play an important role in supporting the development of this projecct.

The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of an integrated coaching strategy and deliver on key coach development programmes such as the Elite Heads of Coaching development programme and the Elite Coach Apprenticeship Scheme.

Responsibilities:
• Support the Head of Coaching in providing clear direction to all of the Coaching team
• Deliver elements of an integrated Coaching strategy, including liaison with all Premier League Clubs and key stakeholders in the professional game
• Support the agreed protocols for the deployment of Heads of Coaching across Clubs
• Support the development of Elite Heads of Coaching (EHOC) and deliver aspects of EHOC and the Elite Coach Apprenticeship Scheme (ECAS)
• Develop the BAME and Female Coach initiative
• Attend and deliver on regular national meetings with Heads of Coaching and Club Coaches
• Lead on the planning and delivery of Coaching Fraternity days with support from other members of the Coaching team
• Support the Head of Coaching with the planning and delivery of the Premier League’s annual Academy Coaches Conference
• Coordinate Club visits to all Heads of Coaching throughout each season
• Lead and manage the delivery of Coaching Case Files with the team of Club Support Managers (CSMs)
• Attend Premier League Academy Games Programme events and weekly fixtures
• Attend coaching advisory group meetings where relevant
• Ensure data is collated effectively within the area of coaching for the purposes of the Academy Annual Reports
• Lead the development of the coaching section of the Academy Annual Reports
• Work with the Games Programme Football Manager to deliver phase-specific working group meetings with coaches
• Coordinate and deliver coaching related content via online learning systems
• From time to time undertake other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the Premier League Football Development department

Person specification (experience and qualifications):

Essential:
• Relevant experience of working in an Academy or equivalent
• Experience of working in an elite Youth Development environment
• Understanding of the principles of Youth Development in a football environment
• High level emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• High level communication (oral and written) and organisational skills
• Understanding and knowledge of Academy technical and education programmes
• Ability to lead and facilitate meetings
• IT literate
• Ability to lead in a specialised area
• Possess a full driving licence as frequent travel will be required
• Level 4 sports coaching qualification or degree equivalent
• Safeguarding and Protecting Children
• DBS clearance
• First Aid for Sport

Desirable:
• UEFA A Coaching Licence
• FA Advanced Youth Award

Experience:
The person must have experience of working in at least 3 of the following roles (more than one area may be covered in a single role):
• A football coaching role
• A people development role
• A role which involves a significant amount of mentoring/coaching
• A role which involves working in an elite learning and/or performance environment
• A role which involves a significant amount of sport coaching in an elite learning and/or performance environment
• A role which requires the delivery of coach development in a high performance environment
• An education/pedagogy role

The person must have experience of working in at least 3 of the following roles (more than one area may be covered in a single role):
• The process of learning in coaches/coach development (andragogy)
• The process of learning in young people (pedagogy)
• Running and designing development programmes
• Football (not necessarily as a coach/high level player)
• Leading a team
• Managing people
• Psychology (Sports or other)
