Job Description
SailGP is sailing redefined. Established in 2018 and headquartered in London and New York, SailGP is an annual, global sports championship featuring bold, cutting-edge technology and awe-inspiring athleticism. The fan-centric, inshore racing takes place in some of the most iconic harbors around the globe and culminates with a $1 million winner-takes-all match race. Rival national teams from Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, Spain and the United States battle it out in identical supercharged F50 catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 50 knots (nearly 60 mph).

Role summary
SailGP is seeking a full-time experienced Commercial Insights Analyst, who wants to join an organisation at an exciting stage of development, and help it grow and achieve its ambition to redefine sailing.
Your mission will be to actively collect, analyse and present commercial data, with a focus on delivering a platform for SailGP commercial teams to operate at their full potential. It is a hands-on role, with a focus on delivering SailGP growth objectives.
Reporting to the SailGP Commercial Strategy Director, the Commercial Insights Analyst will also work very closely with the sales team. In particular, the position will provide support to the Commercial Strategy Director, with information and insights into sponsor prospects and client opportunities.
The position requires an experienced professional with extensive knowledge of best practice in insights and data analysis. Experience in the sports and/or events industry is also a positive. You would be based in London, with some international travel required. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Key responsibilities:
-Support the SailGP global and regional sales teams in developing business cases for commercial partnerships
-Feed data insights to the commercial team to assist with the production of sales materials, including decks, videos and other collaterals
-Research relevant categories for wider sales approaches ensuring the sales teams have the appropriate rationale for growing commercial partnership revenues
-Research relevant prospect company business information, to support the creation of propositions and opportunities
-Collect, analyse and present commercial data, with a focus on providing insightful analysis to be immediately useful for the sales and sponsorship team
-Lead on the development and interpretation of SailGP audience insight to feed into sales materials/strategy and inform other SailGP departments
-Design and implement the SailGP Key Performance Indicator dashboard, with a focus on integrating all key markets, sailing teams and events.
-Use data analysis to spot trends that will inform the future sales strategy
-Provide sales forecast modelling and analysis
-Maintain and monitor the KPI dashboard, including objectives, results and growth targets
-Manage the RFP process for the appointment of agencies
-Manage internal and external data resources, including agencies
-Manage SailGP agencies involved with the collection and analysis of commercial data
-Set up and coordinate weekly reporting calls across the sales team
-Work closely with all SailGP departments to collect data and to assist them monitoring their KPIs
-Manage Insights department annual budget

Background and Skills required
-Extensive knowledge of best practice within insights and data analysis
-Experience of developing and interpreting data to assist with commercial activities
-Well versed in the development of engaging and creative sales materials
-Experience with a wide range of technology solutions used throughout the commercial lifecycle
-Experience of delivering regular activity reports, utilising data from various sources
