Job Description
As the ITIA has expanded its remit and grown as an independent organisation, the need has arisen for a Communications Manager to support the growth of the Organisation. This role will work across all communications areas and provide support to the ITIA Head of Communications.
Main Accountabilities –
Proactive and reactive media relations with global online, print and broadcast journalists regarding tennis’ approach to anti-corruption and anti-doping
Drafting and distribution of media releases
Keeping the ITIA website up-to-date with sanctions and other information
Working with the Head of Communications and education team to ensure that players, coaches and officials are receiving accurate and timely information about the sport’s integrity programmes
Working with the Head of Communications on internal and stakeholder communications programmes and liaison
Covering for ITIA Head of Communications when required
Planning and delivery of content for ITIA social media channels
Planning and delivery of quarterly updates and annual review
To be the liaison with external agencies where required
Skills and Competencies
Essential –
At least five years in a relevant communications role (in-house or agency)
Experience in dealing with issues or crisis management situations
Strong communication strategic and planning skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Ability to work in a complex governance environment
Be able to perform under pressure, maintain strict confidentiality & prioritise effectively
Desirable –
Language capability
Experience of working in elite level sport
Experience of working with global media
Experience of working in the integrity space (anti-corruption or anti-doping)
A ‘special skill’ – such as graphic design, social media or multi-media production
