Community Engagement Co-ordinator – Sky Blues in the Community

Job Description
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the Community Engagement Coordinator is to support and coordinate Community projects such as Premier League Kicks, Children in Need and delivery and coordination of our Accelerate project.
This role requires a dynamic facilitator and effective organiser, with training in or experience of working with young people and adults individually and in group settings, someone who can take initiative and develop a programme of work.
The successful candidate will champion young people’s voice and participation, listen to young people’s experience and help them develop knowledge and skills that help them deal with everyday challenges. This job is varied and involves building strong relationships, writing reports, facilitating circles and evaluating programmes of work.
The successful candidate will also be expected to work alongside the Inclusion Manager on further inclusion projects and activities.

About Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC):
Based at the Ricoh Arena Stadium, we the official charity arm of Coventry City Football Club. This puts us in a unique position to address local priorities and national issues using the branding of the football club to impact positively in our community. We see it as our responsibility to utilise our position for the benefit of the community across Coventry & Warwickshire and have a positive impact in our local area.
With that in mind, the vision for the organisation is ‘Change lives in our local community’

We are actively looking to contribute to local, regional and national priorities, using Coventry City Football Club to positively impact on a range of agendas such as physical activity, health and wellbeing, community safety, community cohesion, employment and skills.
To focus and influence the work of Sky Blues in the Community in achieving our mission and supporting tackling local priorities, our work is categorised under four core themes, each with their own headline goal:

• Education – Inspire learning and personal development to raise aspirations, attainment and achievement

General Tasks
• To co-ordinate the planning, implementation, development and delivery of our Accelerate in line with pre-defined outcomes.
• To further develop and deliver the CIN programme ensuring appropriate monitoring and evaluation is carried out and sessions are of high quality.
• Work collaboratively with the NCS team to ensure we achieve all the programme objectives set by the NCS Trust and the Regional Delivery Provider.
• To work closely with a range of local partners including the Premier League Charitable Fund, CIN, Police, Home Office, Coventry City Council, Youth Offending Team, Integrated Youth Support Services, Housing Associations, Counter Terrorism Unit, local schools and any other relevant partner organisations to ensure collaborative working and added value to the programme.
• To coordinate venue bookings, equipment orders and all other logistical tasks to ensure the smooth running of the projects.
• To complete risk assessments across all projects and are implemented by delivery staff ensuring the safety of participants.
• To develop a relevant strategy to engage and maintain interest of the relevant target group; this will involve outreach work and general marketing and promotion.
• To support the Inclusion Manager ensuring that all relevant monitoring and evaluation information is collated (e.g. attendance registers, case studies) and reports completed to set deadlines.
• Oversee the inputting of attendance registers into the Views monitoring and evaluation system.
• Ensuring objectives, targets and budgets are met within the projects outline.
• To attend, organise and lead (where appropriate) local steering group or partnership meetings; and represent Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC) at the relevant strategic group meetings in the city.
• To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement.

Staff Management
• To supervise all coaching staff on an ongoing basis, clearly identifying staff Rota’s and timetables.
• Support the recruitment and induction process for project coaches, to include; coaching curriculum activities, reporting requirements, health and safety requirements (safeguarding children, first aid etc.).
• To supervise and evaluate the performance of all full time and part time coaches, casual coaches and volunteers in relation to the projects.
• Devise and implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of delivery and conduct of SBitC coaches is upheld at all times; also managing scheme expectations and staff performance.
• Coordinate the completion of monthly mileage sheets, time sheets and expenses claims for project staff as and when appropriate.
Finance
• Responsibility for overseeing budget monitoring (including income and expenditure) for the projects.
• Work with the Inclusion Manager to identify funding opportunities to secure the longer-term future of the projects.

Other
• To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with SBitC policies and procedures; including equal opportunities, GDPR, equality and diversity, safeguarding health and safety at work, etc.
• To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post.
• To represent Coventry City FC and SBitC in a professional manner at all times; to include dress, presentation, hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.

Applicants must: have relevant qualifications (minimum FA Level 2 & Youth Work Award Level 2) and experience of working in the sport industry and youth work; will be subject to an enhanced DBS check & are required to hold a full UK Driving Licence with access to a suitable vehicle for work.
