Saints Foundation is an independent charity aligned to Southampton Football Club. Harnessing the passion of the Club and its fans we aim to inspire, support and deliver positive change and equality of opportunity for young people and adults at risk across Southampton and surrounding areas.

What is the role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Community Engagement Worker to come on board and join the Saints Foundation. This role will focus on delivering diversionary, educational, and sporting sessions to children, young people and adults at risk. This role will be supporting Saints Foundation’s community engagement programmes, including Saints4Sport, PL Works, Saints Switching Play, and PL Kicks in delivering exciting and engaging sessions.

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be able to deliver exciting and engaging sessions that run alongside the curriculums and programs provided. We are looking for an organised individual who can keep track of each session and report back to the project lead when needed. Ideally this person needs to have previous experience working with a variety of age groups particularly young children. This person needs to have excellent communication skills; liaising with parents, teachers and players in a professional and polite manner. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude and a confident personality with the ability to overcome challenges. Finally this role requires a creative individual able to deliver enthusiastic sessions.

The competencies which are required include:
Essential Experience:
•Experience of delivering a range of different sport and diversionary sessions.
•Working with children, young people, and adults at risk in school and community settings.

Desirable Experience:
•Experience of working with a variety of age groups.
•Knowledge or experience of working in the substance misuse field and an understanding of the complex needs of the Client group.
Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
•Minimum level 1 sports coaching qualification (or working towards).
•Multi-skills sports coaching qualification.
•Hold a FA or a recognised in date Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):
•A recognised Youth Worker Level 2 qualification.
•A recognised Health and fitness / gym instructor qualification.
•Boxing Leader Course (Non-contact) or level 1 or above qualification.

•Strong communication skills, able to encourage/inspire and support young children and adults at risk.
•Possesses strong team work and leadership skills to lead other staff and volunteers at sessions.

Desirable Skills:
•Have a good organisational skills and be able to keep up to date records of attendance and other required data.
•Able to support adults at risk to achieve a range of different accreditations.
