Compliance Manager – Lincolnshire – England Golf

Job Description
England Golf is a large, modern and outward looking organisation, responsible for governing, developing and promoting the amateur game of golf in England. Its membership includes approximately 650,000 golfers and 1900 affiliated clubs. England Golf launched its new strategy ‘Raising our Game’, designed to increase participation and club membership in 2014.

England Golf’s role includes maintaining disciplinary, safeguarding, equality, anti-doping, handicapping and other regulations and dealing with cases that fall within these. England Golf also provides legal advice on such issues and other governance matters to clubs and counties and faces many of the legal challenges typical of a large national sports body, including employment law, commercial contracts, company law and litigation matters.

England Golf is now seeking to expand its Governance Department. Applicants must have clear and relevant legal knowledge, skills and experience with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines. Experience or an understanding of applying this knowledge and/or working or volunteering within a golf or sporting context would be an advantage. You will need the ability to build and sustain relationships with partners and work with professionals and volunteers. You must have outstanding communication skills, have strong organisational skills and be IT literate.

The position is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) but you may be required to travel/work occasional weekends and evenings. The position is based at The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. Although not preferred, some flexibility on location may be considered. Any request should be stated on application.
