Deputy Editor – Business Portfolio – Ten Alps Publishing – London, England

Ten Alps Publishing is looking for an exceptional Deputy Editor to play an instrumental role in taking its business titles to the next level.

The position offers the opportunity for an up-and-coming journalist to establish their reputation firmly across various B2B sectors and break national news stories. It also presents the chance to play a pivotal part in developing our digital offering.

Ten Alps has a suite of quarterly B2B publications – including Director of Finance, Business Today and SME – which the new Deputy Editor will work on. The job will involve:

Commissioning, editing and writing articles for all business portfolio magazines
Taking leadership and ownership of sections of the magazines
Writing news stories, editing and commissioning features, to a high standard, for the business portfolio websites and ensuring weekly newsletters retain a high standard
Assisting the planning and refining of editorial content across the business portfolio for the year ahead
Representing the magazines at the largest industry dinners, awards nights and conferences for financial directors, entrepreneurs and business owners, as well as covering these events online
Building up a network of contacts across the titles who can feed in content leads and ideas for print, online and event products
Proof-reading and playing a major part in closing the business titles on press day.
The job calls for excellent news judgement, precise quality control over content and high communication skills. An eye for detail and a resourceful approach to all aspects of the role are a must.
The ideal candidate will be a career journalist with a minimum of three years in a senior B2B reporting role, or current deputy editor. Experience on a business-focussed and/or finance title is preferred but not essential.
