Creative and inspirational leader needed – help us to be outstanding!
Situated in the heart of Milton Keynes, our purpose is to transform lives through learning. We are modelling new ways of working to co-produce improved skills outcomes for students and employers. Situated within part of the UK’s fastest growing economy, we serve a community in which population growth is the norm, working with over 12,000 students each year. Our key partners across the city recognise our ambition and we are strategically critical to the development of the community we serve.
Milton Keynes College is entering a key phase within its improvement journey with an Ofsted inspection, anticipated by September 2015. We have a strong vision and opportunities for development are clear but there are undoubtedly challenges in the sector as funding either decreases or demands more output for the same, and policy drivers from government are narrowing into key areas of importance. We have a clear strategy to seize the opportunities and be better equipped to navigate/mitigate the challenges.
To do this we are looking to appoint a Curriculum focussed Deputy Principal to join the Principal and current Deputy.
As our new Deputy Principal you will be the academic leader, an inspiring pedagogic expert, developing teaching and learning across the college, creating and sustaining a culture of progressive curriculum excellence, innovation and delivery. You will ensure our students’ voices are heard and our curriculum meets the needs of all of our stakeholders. Quality must be of the highest possible standard; developing systems and processes to drive continuous improvement. You will work closely with other members of the leadership team, playing a wider strategic role in the development of our organisation and ensuring the student experience is always at its heart.
Leading this next phase of our development will require ambition, energy, and focus – nothing else will do. If you are confident you can help us realise our full potential and want to play a vital part in the next stage of our journey we’d love to hear from you.
To arrange an initial conversation about this role with Dr Julie Mills, Principal and Chief Executive, please contact Liz Bolitho (PA) on 01908 637007 or by email: liz.bolitho@mkcollege.ac.uk.
Closing date for all applications: 2nd June 2015
Assessment Day: 17th June 2015
Interview dates: 22nd June
