Changing Lives – A unique opportunity to join a brand new all-through Academy
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable leader to join us in creating an outstanding centre of educational excellence in our new Oasis Academy in Sheffield.
In response to a rise in population in the Sheffield area, Oasis Academy Don Valley (working title) will open in September 2015 as a brand new all-through Academy on the site of the former Don Valley stadium in the Darnall and Attercliffe area of Sheffield. The Academy will open initially with pupils from Reception to Year 4, along with 26 FTE Nursery places. It will then grow year-on, with the secondary scheduled to open in the next few years, until it reaches1170 pupils when full in 2022.
As Deputy Principal in our founding staff team you will play a strategic role in the formation of the new Academy, contributing to the establishment of our aims, objectives and policies and deputising for the Principal when required.
The successful candidate should be prepared to lead on areas including curriculum development, monitoring of standards and teacher effectiveness, the development of effective teaching and learning strategies, tracking and analysis of results/data, behaviour management, staff development training and induction.
Our aim is to deliver a unique and bespoke curriculum that will proudly reflect the heritage, growth and sporting culture of the area and be planned and structured across the entire academy so that pupils will have a challenging, coherent and progressive experience from the time they enter at age two, all the way through to sixteen.
The successful candidate will an outstanding teacher and inspirational leader with a strong track record of improving standards. We are seeking a confident and ambitious individual with excellent communication skills who can motivate and inspire our new staff team and form successful links with parents and the local community.
