Development Lead Officer, Participation – Sports Coach UK – Headquarters, Leeds

Job Description
1 Working closely with our current lead for Youth and Adult Participation, as well as our Inclusion and Children’s leads to accelerate our work on increasing sporting participation.

2 Scoping, piloting and embedding work in new markets and emerging agendas linked to, for example, health, behaviour change, non-traditional coaching environments, older adults and technology.

3 Fostering new and productive relationships with organisations and people who are closely aligned to new areas of interest.

4 Developing, implementing and evaluating projects that further our ambitions in new markets and emerging agendas.

5 Engaging and collaborating with other staff and existing delivery partners to maximise the impact of new project work.

6 Authoring, or oversee the authoring of, new content for learning products, such as workshops and elearning.

7 Managing consultant contracts where the need for extra capacity or expertise is needed.

8 Ensuring work is evidence-based and continuing to grow the body of research in each work area through project work and collaboration with the research team.

9 Identifying, where appropriate, additional resources to support emerging work areas.

10 Continuing to seek out new emerging themes for coaching linked to the organisations strategy and the sporting landscape.

11 Contributing to the wider work of the Research and Innovation team.

12 Ensuring colleagues are kept informed of progress within project work.

13 Ensuring work is equitable and in line with our values.

14 Maintaining a high level of awareness of sports coach UK’s other work areas, in order to respond to specific needs of individuals or groups.

15 Contributing to the development of sports coach UK policy and strategy through internal staff meetings and working groups.

16 Following, promoting and implementing sports coach UK’s policies for the equal treatment of all employees, applicants and customers.

17 Undertaking any other tasks appropriate to this level of responsibility.
