The London Borough of Harrow is moving forward with a once in a lifetime ambitious and exciting regeneration programme. This includes plans to regenerate some of our outdated council estates alongside building new council homes for rent and shared ownership homes as well as delivering our vision for the Heart of Harrow Opportunity and Housing Zone resulting in 5,500 homes, two schools and 3,000 jobs over the next decade.
Development manager
Harrow Council is starting to build new council homes again for the first time in 30 years. We are recruiting a development manager to join our new housing regeneration team to lead on getting them built. You will lead on taking forward plans to build a range of new affordable homes starting with building on small infill sites on existing council housing estates.
Your responsibilities would include undertaking feasibility appraisals for potential development sites and project managing a team of consultants to deliver new homes for rent, shared ownership and market sale.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
excellent knowledge and understanding of the housing development process from start to finish
experience of developing and delivering new build housing projects
experience in budget management and letting and managing consultancy and development contracts
degree or equivalent level experience in housing development/housing regeneration
excellent networking and communication skills with a wide range of audiences including tenants and leaseholders
evidence of self-motivation and commitment to work on own initiative
