Job Description
PURPOSE
The Development Manager is one of three and works in partnership with curling communities, ice rinks, local authorities, leisure trusts and other relevant stakeholders to deliver the five pillars of the strategic plan to build thriving curling communities and increase participation in curling.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The post will be responsible to the Head of Development for the successful design and delivery of selected national programmes, projects and events.
• Work with ice rinks, clubs and individuals to maximise the curling club environment on the community level in line with the Scottish Curling strategic plan.
• Lead on the domestic curling competition programme.
• Build, develop and sustain productive partnerships with all stakeholders in each ice rink curling community such as clubs, local authorities and any other partners.
• Manage a regional budget and identify and secure any funding opportunities to sustain and enhance the ice rink or club offer (in partnership with ice rink or club).
• Ensure the delivery of quality programmes and initiatives to introduce people to curling such as Curling’s Cool and Try Curling. Work closely with partners to improve conversion rates from these introductory programmes to become community curlers.
• Ensure the delivery of quality programmes and initiatives to help retain curlers and support their progress and development such as skill awards, virtual clubs, camps etc.
• Support the Disability & Inclusion Development Officer to develop and implement targeted inclusion programmes and raise the profile of the positive impact of curling for people with a disability.
• Promote safe environments and work alongside the Scottish Curling Safeguarding Officer to ensure safe practices are in place.
• Be a credible, visible partner for ice rinks and work to maximise their “curling offer” within their community.
• Implement and manage systems to record, report and analyse key data associated with the development of curling locally and regionally.
• To develop and establish links with primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities to provide opportunities to experience and participate in curling in curricular and extra-curricular programmes.
• To work closely with development team to ensure coaching, pathway development, inclusion, competitions, equality and safeguarding opportunities, policies and programmes are maximised in the designated region.
• Work closely with marketing team to promote, update and ensure members are informed of development programmes and opportunities via website and other relevant media channels.
• Any other delegated duties as appropriate to the post.
