The British Triathlon Federation is the National Governing Body for Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon in Great Britain, responsible for raising the profile and delivering medal-winning performances and helping everyone discover, enjoy and achieve in triathlon.
Triathlon England (TE) is one of the three Home Nations of the British Triathlon Federation (BTF), the other two being triathlonscotland and Welsh Triathlon. The three Home Nation Associations are responsible for all aspects of triathlon in their respective countries, and contribute to the work of BTF.
British Triathlon and Triathlon England have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Director of Delivery who will establish this new integrated department across BTF and TE. Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Senior Management Team you will develop this new department and once established lead delivery across both BTF and TE. You will lead the operational delivery of Triathlon England participation targets. You will be responsible for the Regional Management team within Triathlon England, setting ambitious targets and supporting their delivery through close partnership with Regional Councils and other local stakeholders. Triathlon is a fast-moving commercial sport and you will be equally comfortable with private and public sector delivery systems. The Director will create an integrated workforce team within BTF and TE, taking the leadership on all coaching, volunteering and officials services within BTF and TE. You will understand the links between a strong NGB workforce and local delivery. The Director will be a key member of the Senior Management Team working with the other Directors to develop annual plans in accordance with the emerging BTF and TE strategy and to deliver operational targets as defined by both BTF and TEMB.
The successful candidate will have outstanding experience in NGB delivery systems, working with and leading regional teams. You will have the ability to both set and deliver strategy with a commitment to operational excellence. You will understand the sports landscape across both commercial and public sectors. Clear headed you can prioritise and set objectives. You thrive in the sporting environment, enjoy negotiating between stakeholders and can turn the ambitious vision of a fast expanding sport into a sustainable business strategy.
The role will be based at the British Triathlon headquarters located at Loughborough University; however, the nature of the role will require evening and weekend working and occasional travel.
