Post Title: Director of Operations
Role Status: Full time (35 hours), Permanent.
Organisational Base: Office Based
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £58,000 to £66,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance and Benefits package
The organisation
As the charitable arm of the English Football League (EFL), the EFL Trust was established in 2008 to oversee the remarkable and diverse work of their Football Club Community Organisations (CCOs). Our core purpose remains to support the CCOs to help us achieve our vision of stronger more active communities. This is best achieved when the power of both the Football Club and the CCO are brought together. We also continue to work with a significant number of key partners whose ambitions we share, such as DWP, DCMS, MHCLG, Department for Education, NCS, Sport England and the NHS. We are confident about the pivotal role we can play in helping them to meet our shared objectives. In the past year we have invested over £18 million in our network, more than ever before. We remain committed to providing a world class service to our network of partners to help them maximise and quantify their impact. The role of Director of Operations
This exciting new role has a principal focus on developing business services, processes and technology which will support the development of EFL Trust and its network. The Director of Operations will also support the CEO with the overall executive leadership and growth of the organisation, articulating and upholding the ethos and expectations of the EFL Trust. The Director of Operations will manage collaboration between the EFL Trusts’ Business Services Department and the remote Business Development Team, effectively communicating priorities and delivering efficiencies across all business operations that ensure excellent value for money. The role will foster a positive, values driven culture, ensuring staff at all levels across the organisation are inspired and encouraged to succeed and prosper. There will be a requirement for national travel, which can entail overnight stays away from home and often work outside normal office hours.
The individual
This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with excellent business acumen and experience, to assist the CEO in providing ambitious strategic direction across the EFL Trust. You will be an exceptional leader that is resilient and flexible, with the ability to challenge in a positive way. Significant experience in a senior business operations position within a regulated environment and knowledge of incorporating robust performance management frameworks ensuring accountability and the integrity of the quality of projects aligned to contract compliance is essential.
We are keen to hear from people whose skillset includes, a flexible, resilient and adaptable attitude towards work, with the ability to be creative and innovative and demonstrate their determination to continually motivate and inspire. We would particularly like to hear from those with a successful record of contract delivery and compliance, using quality assurance systems, including service user participation to improve overall services.
