The King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Director of Science to provide strong strategic leadership and management including the development and implementation of strategies to promote high levels of academic achievement for all students.
We are looking for a dynamic leader of Science who has a vision for the subject and a proven track record of improving outcomes for students to lead on the continued development of a successful Science department. Results at Key Stage 4 are good, A Level subjects are becoming oversubscribed and we also offer Applied Science at Level 3. The department is fully staffed, has 12 science laboratories including bespoke Chemistry, Biology and Physics laboratories and enjoys excellent bespoke resources. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching; must have a passion for improving teaching and learning through developing colleagues so that students consistently make good or better progress and achieve challenging outcomes.
