Green Duck Media is recruiting an editor-in-chief for its flagship title, Sussex Style magazine, the premier, high-end lifestyle publication for the county of Sussex.
Sussex Style magazine was established three years ago and has grown to become the most respected magazine for Sussex – the first choice for the discerning reader looking for the perfect balance of style and substance.
The magazine has recently made a successful transition from a free to a paid for title. Published every month, Sussex Style is packed with incisive features, celebrity interviews, beautiful fashion and beauty, shopping, culture, technology and travel.
Green Duck Media is seeking a high experienced, dynamic editor to build on the magazine’s success and take it to the next level in the market place.
The role:
Setting the editorial agenda for a monthly 146 page magazine.
Devising monthly features lists and planning editorial coverage for the year ahead.
Commissioning and liaising with writers – existing and new.
Seeking out new leads and fresh angles for imaginative, out-of-the-box features which set Sussex Style apart from its competitors.
Feature writing and interviewing.
Working closely with the publisher, advertising and design teams.
Sourcing images where necessary.
Management of the flat plan.
Responsibility for the initial sub of all copy.
Final sign off of the magazine on print deadlines.
About you:
Candidates should be experienced journalists with considerable experience working in senior editorial positions – ideally on magazines.
They should be a forward-thinking, dynamic, team players with excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
This position will involve working 16 days each calendar month.
