Job purpose
To support the delivery of our primary prevention strategy through creating, developing and implementing education and information programmes targeted at children, athletes, coaches and athlete support personnel (including parents and teachers), working in collaboration with key partners identified as part of our prevention landscape.
To manage our values-based education, information and accreditation programmes that directly integrate into the Education sector including; Schools, Colleges, Universities and associated partner programmes that are delivered in these environments. Coordinating the delivery of such programmes through our Education Delivery Network, including providing support to its management and quality assurance.
This role will also be responsible for identifying and developing new programmes, such as integration into the curriculum, which enhances our offer to instil the principles of clean sport with the next-generation of athletes and athlete support personnel.
Specifically, you will be a member of the Education Team who aim to promote and reinforce a culture of clean sport through effective partnerships. Creating and developing sustainable, impactful programmes that enable athletes and athlete support personnel to participate and compete in line with the values of sport whilst abiding by the anti-doping rules.
Person specification
Qualifications/experience/knowledge
Qualified teacher or lecturer with a recognised teaching qualification
Significant experience in education delivery including the development of associated learning resources/materials
Experience of curriculum or learning programme development including e-learning programmes and content for digital information resources e.g. Apps, preferably for national level programmes
Experience of project management including project development, planning, monitoring and evaluating against agreed milestones
Knowledge or experience of accreditation processes or schemes
Experience of supporting organisations to deliver against agreed outcomes
Experience of working within an education environment or working in an education team in a sport related industry
Experience of quality assurance or internal verification processes
Experience of training others to be Educators or a similar type role
Knowledge of the sporting landscape within the UK, key organisations, athlete development and the challenges faced by sporting organisations in the prevention of doping and drug misuse
Demonstrable experience of team working and ethos of ‘can do’ whilst showing understanding and sensitivity to others’ views and objectives
Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information
Have a passion for sport and an interest in UKAD activities
Positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn, and seek feedback on performance
Skills
Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including well-developed presentation skills, public speaking experience ideal
Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate national education and information programmes
Ability to build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally
Self-aware, good level of interpersonal skills such as; self-reflection, influencing, negotiation and communication skills
Ability to actively listen and take on board external feedback
Ability to see from an audiences point of view to inform education and information programme development
Able to work methodically with good research and analytical skills
Competent Microsoft Office user and knowledge of wider software packages including webinar software
Self-motivated and able to operate within agreed boundaries but with minimal supervision
Creative approach to work, with the ability to develop innovative solutions and use initiative in problem solving.
Ability to prioritise own workload to meet set deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
ability to communicate effectively across all levels, including well-developed presentation skills.
Competent in a range of writing styles – polices, processes, educational content and resources
Ability to translate technical content to simplified and understandable content that is appropriate for the target audience
