Engagement Manager – Manchester Metropolitan Students’ Union

We are an independent charity that exists to represent the needs and views of all 37,000 plus students at Manchester Metropolitan University.

There has been a Students’ Union for what we now call Manchester Metropolitan University since the 1920s. Over the last one hundred years, the role of The Union and the part it plays in student education and wellbeing has grown and developed into the organisation we are today.

Students are at the heart of what we do.

This role has been developed to drive forward and develop a strong student engagement portfolio and support the Elected Officers in their work. The successful candidate will manage the Engagement team including the campaigning expertise, elections, course and halls rep schemes and union elections. In addition, the post holder will work strategically to strengthen the relationship between the Union and its members; leading on the creation and application of faculty level engagement plans.

We are looking for someone with significant experience gained in a similar role and an enhanced understanding of membership or public engagement and its application. Knowledge of higher education institutions and issues affecting students would be beneficial but not essential as support and training will be provided.
