Job Description
X 4 roles available U16s Boys, U16s Girls, U18s boys, Under 18s Girls.
Various locations across the UK

ROLE SUMMARY
• To provide physiotherapy support to all of the England Hockey squad athletes at training camps and matches
• To manage injuries between camps, co-ordinating care with external practitioners and providing injury status updates to coaches when appropriate
• To work closely with other physiotherapists / medical and science personnel to provide the best support within the performance training environment
• To support the delivery of the sport medicine education and appropriate screening across the squad programme
• To be available to travel to national and international training camps and competitions as required

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide total injury management (prevention assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and education) to the appointed squad as part of the medical team whilst at training camps and competitions based in the UK or overseas
• To act as physiotherapist for EH in the development of a comprehensive physiotherapy service for all EH athletes alongside existing physiotherapy staff
• To support the work done by other physiotherapists that may be involved with EH athletes
• To communicate injury status regarding athletes to other health care professionals designated team leaders, coaches and managers
• To provide and develop rehabilitation programmes to the appointed squad athletes
• To deliver educational material practically, verbally and in written form to EH athletes, coaches and personnel
• To maintain written confidential records in accordance with the CSP/ACPSEM guidelines, using the PDMS database
• To collect relevant medical statistics
• To work within the professional rules, regulations and guidelines of the CSP
• To work within the rules and regulations of EH, where these do not conflict with those of the CSP
• To support the governing body Anti-doping Officer to ensure good athlete and coach education
• To undertake any other appropriate duties as requested by EH
• To maintain own CPD and support other physiotherapy staff in their CPD
• To liaise with external monitoring agencies and other sports administrators from relevant organisations

PERSON SPECIFICATION
England Age Group Physiotherapists must demonstrate the EH Brand Personality through their behaviours:

Qualifications and Experience
• BSc Physiotherapy
• Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
• A valid and up to date pitch side qualification (Lubas or RFU PHICIS)
• Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
• Previous experience working independently in a sports setting including pitch side care

General Expectations
• To maintain up to date appropriate professional qualifications including pitch side trauma course, child safeguarding and UKAD
• Maintain registration with the HCPC
• To be an advocate for equality and diversity and treat all staff, athletes and any other persons with dignity, respect and fairness
• To report safeguarding concerns though correct channels
• Successful applicants must obtain a DBS check through England Hockey
