Job Description
England Korfball is seeking an individual to join the Ambassador Team for its England Korfball Inspired programme. The England Korfball Inspired programme is a Korfball specific accreditation scheme that wants people of high quality to support and enthuse korfball clubs through the process. The Ambassador will be covering clubs based in the East of England.

England Korfball’s vision for the sport is to “Inspire thousands of new and existing participants to enjoy and grow Korfball on their doorstep.” Our key areas of work are growing the number of adults and young people playing regularly in teams and improving the sporting experience for those people who participate in Korfball.

Job Description and Personal Specification

Introduction to the role:
England Korfball Inspired is England Korfball’s club support programme. England Korfball Inspired is a mechanism to provide clubs with the support they need to become sustainable. The programme outlines key criteria that clubs can work towards as they move through their development journey. In order to achieve the criteria there is extensive support and resources available.
The England Korfball Inspired Ambassadors will support clubs as they move through the programme, signposting to resource as required and reviewing evidence against criteria as clubs complete the programme.
This is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking to support their local clubs and put their knowledge of club development to good use in a small but ambitious sport. The flexibility of the role will fit well around existing commitments and will enable a position of support and trust between the club and Ambassador.

Salary:
EKI Ambassadors will receive remuneration, paid per club supported through the programme. The Ambassador will also receive reimbursement for any expenses incurred (mileage will be claimed at 0.20p per mile, phone call costs will be reimbursed on supplying evidence of call costs)

Role Impact and Outcomes:
The role is very important and will be vital in shaping the engagement of each club with the EKI programme.

Authority and decision making:
• Work together with all EKI Ambassadors as well as the National Panel.
• Make recommendations on whether clubs have met the criteria to be accredited as their chosen type.

Person specification:
• Must be based in the East of England (preferably Cambridge, Peterborough, Northampton, Bedford, or surrounding areas)

The key competencies are:
• An understanding of and enthusiasm for club development, particularly within Korfball
• Ability to communicate effectively and be open minded.
• A commitment to equity and equal opportunities
• Experience facilitating groups or individuals through a process
• Respect for the opinions of others
• Competent completing monitoring paperwork to monitor the project
• Flexible and willing to work to club schedules
• Ability to work to deadlines and an ability to travel

Desirable experience required:
EKI Ambassadors will potentially have further experience in the following areas:
• Welfare and safeguarding
• Good club management
• Working with volunteers
Additional information
• EKI Ambassadors will be required to attend a minimum of 1 orientation session for which expenses will be received.
• EKI Ambassadors will be required to complete monitoring and evaluation paperwork
• EKI Ambassadors will report to the EKI project manager
• EKI Ambassadors will agree with the EKI Project Manager the number of clubs they work with depending on existing commitments and travel ability
• EKI Ambassadors will be required to have a presence at any national panel meeting at which they want to recommend clubs for sign off

The successful applicants will be required to take part in a phone interview in November, attend an orientation day and, upon successful appointment, work with a number of clubs, as agreed with the England Korfball Inspired Project Manager. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Exact interview and orientation dates will be confirmed after the closing date.
