Key Responsibilities Include:
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of a full time Team Doctor and 2 physiotherapists, to provide personal physiotherapy support to an identified group of contracted England Senior Women players (28) and to monitor and support other identified players (approx 12). This will include on-site physiotherapy support to the England squad whilst preparing for and during international tournaments and training camps and visiting players / TP15 clubs out of camp providing physiotherapy support.
To ensure adequate medical records are maintained, in line with national and organisational guidelines.
To participate as part of a Multi-disciplinary Sport Science and Medical team that will lead in the development of a world class rugby Performance department.
The post-holder is accountable for the physiotherapy component of the diagnosis and treatment of injuries sustained by England Senior Women players whilst training or playing for England and will lead, in close collaboration with TP15 club medical teams, on the rehabilitation plansfor any England contracted players injured on club duty.
Essential Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and will be a Chartered Physiotherapist and HCPC Member. A master’s degree or equivalent in physiotherapy, sports medicine, or higher qualification in sports physiotherapy or sports science is desirable. The successful candidate will also have a current Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport Care Course Certificate (or equivalent) and will be pro-active with continued medical education specific to sports medicine.
Essential Experience
The successful candidate will have established post-registration experience within sports medicine, and have established experience of providing physiotherapy support to elite sportsmen or women. Having an understanding of applying appropriate medical ethics in an elite sports medicine environment and previous experience of working with elite rugby union teams/squads is preferred.
