Job Description
The England Women’s Senior Assistant coach is responsible for supporting the England Women’s Head Coach in preparing the England Women’s Cricket Team for international competition both at home and abroad. They also have responsibility for the continued improvement of all England Women cricketers, their player development programmes and the sustained success of the England Women’s team.
Please note that this role involves extensive national and international travel alongside the England Women’s team touring schedule.
This role will require the post holder to demonstrate expertise in one or more skill specific areas of the game to drive individual player development

YOU’LL BE DOING
Providing support and assistance for the England Women’s Head Coach in fully preparing the England Women’s team for each series, both at home and abroad.
Working closely with the Head Coach to develop a world class England Women’s cricket team which delivers sustained success through an empowering, engaging and inclusive player focussed environment.
Preparing, and supporting the delivery of, individual player development programmes for all England players.
Delivering individual coaching support and skill sessions to players where appropriate.
Establishing from the England Women’s Head Coach key knowledge requirements ahead of each series and working with the other assistant coaches and team analysts to provide necessary data support and tactics.
Communicating and building trust with Regional Head Coaches and Regional Directors of Women’s Cricket on England player workloads, performance and development plans.
Working closely with medical and sports science staff on the areas of fitness, injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance analysis.
Attending and contributing to England team management meetings as required.
Undertaking tasks assigned by the England Women’s Head Coach in relation to all aspects of this role.
Playing a role in developing a high-performance culture both in the dressing room and on the pitch.
Demonstrating expertise in one or more areas of the game in order to assist with individual player and team improvement.
Offering advice to the captain and Head Coach on areas of team selection, strategy and performance.
Offering support and, where appropriate, mentoring to other coaches in the system.
Acting as a positive role model, ambassador and advocate for the sport, nurturing and developing positive relationships that will promote and support the long-term development of England Women’s cricket
YOU’LL HAVE
A passion for coaching cricket and an excellent knowledge of the specific requirements of elite cricket performance.
A track record of preparing, coaching and developing players for elite performance.
Extensive experience of contributing to multi-disciplinary teams in high performance sport.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of talent development.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Good knowledge and understanding of sports science and medicine.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
A minimum coaching qualification of Level 3 or International equivalent
