Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Finance Manager to join the Finance department of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, working closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the smooth running of the Finance and Payroll Department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Leading on all aspects of financial accounting and controls
• Review of finance processes to streamline and automate
• Providing financial information to budget holders
• The role has a solid functional reporting line into the Chief Financial Officer and will manage two direct reports, our Finance Assistants
• Liaise and work closely with other Managers and departments; particularly cricket and academy, commercial, operational and in-house conference and events teams
• The role is a broad one and you will be required to get involved in day-to-day transactional work as well as more strategic projects
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) or have an equivalent qualification
• Good amount of experience in a finance/accounting environment, either in industry or practice
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of good internal financial control systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience of Sage is preferrable
• A strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage and manipulate large volumes of data
• Proactive in looking for opportunities to drive improvements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the capability to interpret data and drive conclusions and recommendations
