Responsible to Head of Medical Services
Responsible for Provision of Physiotherapy services to Football playing squad

Clinical
To provide medical/Physiotherapy services to first team and reserve team squads
To undertake medical screening, pre-habilitation and assessment and management of presenting conditions.
To provide physiotherapy services at the team hotel/training venue/stadia as required.
To design programmes for injured players on a daily basis from acute (treatment room), sub acute (gym/early pitch work) and late stage (position specific functional work) rehabilitation.
To undertake daily, individual, specific treatments including massage, manipulation, acupuncture, taping, and exercise therapy.
To collect seasonal injury audit and feedback to Head of Medicine/Football Management.
To provide emergency field of play cover during first team/reserve team games and training sessions.
To provide efficient and appropriate referral networks within the multi-disciplinary team where needed.
To accompany players to Medical/Multi-disciplinary team appointments where required.
To help supervise members of the Multi-disciplinary team when attending/providing service provision at the training ground or stadium to playing staff.
To maintain and develop knowledge and skills in line with agreed PDP.
To assist in the preparation of all players for training sessions on a daily basis.
To assist in recovery strategy/sessions – nutrition/hydration/stretching/ice bath etc
To assist in aspects of medical examinations in the process of recruiting new players to Cardiff City FC and liaising with other related Football Clubs.
To participate actively in Medical/Sport Science Departments In-service Training Programme.

Managerial
To ensure the medical working environment supports the development of elite footballers.
To assist and feedback to the Head of Medical Services in overseeing the daily running of the medical department.
Implement all policies and procedures in line with CCFC & Governing Body requirements (The FA, Football League, CSP, HCPC), ensuring all documents are in place and updated as and when required.
To provide mentorship to junior members of staff.
To attend meetings/represent CCFC at PR/media events as dictated/required by the company.

Communication
To work closely with the Football Club Manager and his coaching department to ensure all aspects of player’s diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation are communicated on a daily basis. This will include liaising with the Head of Youth as and when required on all U21 player aspects.
To liaise with Medical Consultants, Club staff, Radiologists, Podiatrists and the wider multi-disciplinary team regarding the management of playing staff.
To communicate effectively with playing staff regarding injury status and their rehabilitation process.
To communicate openly and effectively within the medical department on a daily basis to debrief current issues.

General
To be a Chartered Physiotherapist and registered with the HCPC and CSP.
To ensure the medical rooms at all venues are clean/tidy and comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
To keep and maintain accurate and up to date medical records that comply with CSP and HCPC standards.
To prepare home and away dressing rooms for first team and reserve team games.
To assist in medical supplies procurement and maintain relevant stock levels.
Under take any other duties as and when requested by the Football Club Manager, Chairman and or Football Secretary.
