Job Description
London City Lionesses FC is a semi-professional association football club based in London. The team will compete in FA Women’s Championship during the 2019–20 season, the second tier of English women’s football.
London City Lionesses seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with first team squad on a Part-time basis (12-20hrs) reporting to the Head of performance. The successful candidate will have close working relations with support staff and work primarily with the first team players.
Candidates must be flexible and willing to work flexible hours associated with the job. You should be competent in IT and be an excellent communicator. The successful candidate will join a team and deliver physiotherapy support to players whilst contributing to the multi-disciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL:
– Chartered Physiotherapist (must be registered with the HCPC) or Graduate Sports Therapists (must be registered with the Society of Sports Therapists)
– Valid ATMMiF course (or ability to obtain the qualification within 3 months)
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
– 2 years experience including 1 year working within a team sport.
– Demonstration of role relevant CPD for the past 2 years.
– Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
– Capable of working independently, using own initiative and working under pressure.
– Must be able to communicate, interact and engage with a wide range of staff.
– Extremely well organised, assertive and have strong time management skills.
– Be committed, enthusiastic, passionate and open-minded.
– Must have the ability to develop within the role, learn new skills and deal with change.
– Be a critical thinker & proactive problem solver.
– Have a strong flexible & adaptable work ethic.
– Experience of working pitch side in sport.
– An MSc in a related field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions related to players within the first team squad and the implementation of appropriate treatment, movement analysis, and progressive rehabilitation strategies.
– Pre-game and Pre-training management of players including strapping and taping and administration of treatment as required.
– Close liaison with the Club Doctor, Sports Scientists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to optimise player medical care and performance.
– Delivery of individual and squad-based injury prevention programmes based on screening, past medical history, and injury trends.
– Reporting of all injuries to the Head of Performance and provide updates on all player’s rehabilitation progress.
– Complete comprehensive, accurate, reliable and confidential medical records for all professional players.
– Coordinate and manage other medical staff.
Training days: Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday afternoon.
Match day: Sunday
