The £40 million sports village provides a premier training and competition venue for elite athletes, fitness and social sport and will support us to deliver an outstanding student sporting experience combined with a top quality education.
We are seeking a dynamic, vibrant and highly motivated fitness instructor to join our experienced Health & Fitness Team to work at the David Ross Sports Village, Jubilee Sports Centre and King’s Meadow Campus Fitness Suites. As a member of the Health & Fitness Team you must have a passion for customer care and a desire to deliver outstanding service.
Daily duties will include new member inductions, fitness programme design, delivering fitness classes, giving help and guidance to members, walking the gym floor engaging, interacting and looking after the well-being and motivation of our members. Additional duties will include making member bookings, completing facility health and safety checks, cleaning duties and organising gym events and challenges.
Successful candidates will hold a NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in gym/fitness instructing and have experience of delivering both 1-1 appointments and group training sessions, be enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated and have excellent communication, organisation and customer care skills with an energetic and outgoing personality.

This is a full time position (36.25hrs per week) on a fixed term contract until 25th April 2021 and candidates will need to be flexible in their approach to their working hours, noting that the operational hours range between 05.30am and 11.00pm seven days a week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Post holders may occasionally be asked to work outside of normal working hours, for some events and essential building maintenance.
The first round of interviews will take place week commencing 23rd March. Second interviews (for those candidates selected) will take place week commencing 30th March.
