Job Description
Charlton Athletic is an English Championship Football Club established in 1905 based in South East London. Our mission is to continue to work in partnership, building on our unique heritage by developing a first-class experience for fans, business partners and the local community.
We are looking to recruit a part time Foundation Phase coach, to work within our Youth Academy, holding the responsibility for the coaching and development of our Foundation Phase (U9-U11) age groups.
Location: Sparrows Lane Training Ground, South East London
Salary: Competitive Session Rate (Depending on qualifications)
Hours: Part time

Key responsibilities:
• To coach an age group for 3 sessions per week
• Joint-manage the team for all of their matches
• Record session plans and evaluate all training sessions using the Charlton Athletic Football Club Academy software programme
• Evaluate player and team match performances using the Academy software programme
• Produce detailed player reports
• Review regularly the self-assessment work undertaken by your squad
• Attend player review meetings
• To attend all appropriate meetings and Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses organised by the Youth Academy
• To keep all relevant qualifications up-to-date

Main job requirements and person specification
Education/Qualifications (or internationally recognised equivalent)/Training:
• UEFA B Licence (E)
• FA Youth Module Awards 1, 2 and 3 (E/working towards qualification)
• Child Protection Certificate (E)
• Emergency First Aid Certificate (D)

Specific Experience:
• Background in football as a player or a coach (E)
• Experience of working with Foundation Phase (U9-U11) age groups (E)
• Experienced in using the Four Corner coaching model (D)
• The ability to deliver session plans and reports as above (E)
• Enthusiasm, passion, organisation and commitment (E)
• Preferably 2 years’ experience (E)
• An understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) environment (D)
• The ability to work as part of a team (E)

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E)
• Previous experience working at a professional football club with good football knowledge and understanding at elite development level (D)
• Ability to work with all levels of management and be able to work as part of a team as well as take own initiative (E)
• Ability to meet strict deadlines in a pressurised environment (E)
• Reliable and highly motivated towards the role and trustworthy with sensitive data (E)
• A healthy interest in sport/football (E)

• This is a part time role that includes some work on weekends and evenings;
