Franchise General Manager – Surrey Sports Park

Job Description
Surrey Sports Park are recruiting a Franchises General Manager to manage both the Surrey Storm Netball and Surrey Scorchers Basketball franchises. The role is varied and rewarding, affording the right candidate to excel and make their mark in the world of professional sport. Managing direct reports and also working with colleagues across multiple departments to ensuring that effective and efficient operating of the commercial, operational and performance components of the franchises. This role demands an energetic, entrepreneurial and commercially effective manager with a passion for sport and a broad understanding of professional sport who loves being part of a fast moving, high performing, demanding department.

Roles & Responsibilities
• To lead the Directors of Basketball and Netball in the development of a highly successful Performance Programme and Pathways.
• Develop and deliver significant and sustainable income streams related to the Franchises, in particular match day commercial sales and sponsors.
• Manage and develop relations with National Governing Bodies, League Operators and other Partners ensuring contractual obligations are delivered
• Evidence the effectiveness of the Franchises in relation to the SSP Strategy and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the Franchise business
• Oversee the contractual signing of players and coaches for each franchise, ensuring that correct processes and policies are adhered to.
• Lead a collective group of staff responsible for Franchise delivery across a number of internal departments to ensure objectives and targets are achieved.
• To represent SSP at Franchise business meetings and ensure compliance and delivery of agreed and contractual obligations.
