Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity set up in 1996 by Chairman Steve Gibson. We use the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a growing and passionate team based within a professional football club charity. The MFCF Funding Officer will be responsible for identifying and maximizing funding opportunities through funding sources such as charitable trusts, grant makers and governmental organisations, ensuring the Foundation has continuous funding streams for the sustainability for the current and future programmes.
The post holder will work closely with the Business Development Manager and Programme Coordinators in order to identify and match opportunities of funding with the project requirements. The successful candidate will need to be able to develop partnerships and relationships with funding providers across the UK to secure the best possible funding outcome for our programmes.
This position requires an experienced bid writer to support the bid process for the business. The individual will prepare and focus on high quality and compelling material, to write coherent, organised and persuasive proposals, conduct thorough research and propose additional potential funding opportunities. The successful candidate will continuously update and maintain a comprehensive database of funders and applications, as well as future funding opportunities.

The ideal candidate must:
• Be experienced in and possess relevant knowledge of bid writing.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and targets.
• Have a strong commitment to continuous improvement and the quality of service.
This post falls within the scope of ‘regulated activity’ and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
