A General Manager is required to help run a lively and vibrant educational charity providing Practical Philosophy and Economics courses based in Marylebone, London.
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Support and Liaison – with the senior tutor, trustees and volunteers including arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, Executive Meetings and Fellowship administration.
2) Supervisory role – management and co-ordination of a small team of 8 members of staff in Accounts, Enrolments, Reception, Events, Room Hire, Compliance and the House.
3) Website advertising – Implementing decisions of the Communications Committee on advertising, website, social media management and email marketing.
4) Overseeing IT facilities – Managing the IT facilities of a small office of 8 users including supervising the implementation of a new integrated system with a view to further development and on-going support.
THE PERSON
The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and resourceful. They will demonstrate excellent organisational, co-ordination and communication skills with a good working knowledge of current IT systems. Experience of working for a charity is helpful.
SALARY
Circa £40,000+ depending on skills and experience plus non-contributory pension scheme

The School of Economic Science is a registered educational charity dedicated to promoting the study of natural laws governing relations in human society. This is done mainly by providing evening and Saturday courses in Practical Philosophy and Economics with Justice. This is a new role which will not only continue to meet the needs of all students who attend the courses but will also enhance the systems and marketing operations.
