Job Description
Applications are invited for the post of Graduate Fitness Officer in the School of Sport, commencing 1st September 2015. This post provides a rare opportunity for a graduate to combine practical teaching in a higher education setting with part-time study for a higher degree. The successful candidate is expected to be eligible to enrol for a taught MSc or research MPhil in the School of Sport. Tuition fees (to EU/UK level) of approximately £2,400 per annum will be paid by the School.
The Graduate Fitness Officers contribute to the activities of the Sports Development Service and, in particular, are responsible for the smooth operation and delivery of activities within the MP Jackson Fitness Centre.
This is a fixed term post and the starting salary will be on the University’s Grade 5 point 16, increasing to point 17 from 1st August 2016. The actual wage will be 66.67% of this for 24 hours per week. Fitness Officers are eligible for membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme. The nature of the duties requires flexible hours of working. Fitness Officers are expected to be available from 7am and will occasionally be required to work until 11pm. The post is available from 1st September 2015 to 31st August 2017.
