Background:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at London Irish Rugby Club to join our experienced sports medical team at our new state of the art training facility at Hazelwood. We are looking to recruit a Head Academy physiotherapist to co-ordinate the medical management of our academy programme.

Job Description
Role Summary
The successful applicant will report directly to the Head of Medical Services and the Academy Director and will be responsible for the provision and delivery of physiotherapy to the academy programme as well as assisting in provision of service to the first team squad.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the day to day injury management, rehabilitation and prevention programme for the London Irish Senior Academy Squad.

Manage the day to day injury management, rehabilitation and prevention programme for the London Irish/St Pauls AASE programme.

Manage the day to day injury management, rehabilitation and prevention programme for the London Irish U13-U18 EPDG programme (Sunbury).

Manage part time physiotherpist responsible for the delivery of treatment at the London Irish DPP centre at Hampshire and Berkshire. Manage match day doctors for U18 Academy matches.

Produce weekly reports on athletes in all tiers of the London Irish Academy programme for the Academy Manager.

Duties include
Keeping documentation on all aspects of injury management in accordance to the standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Assist in keeping accurate detailed records of all injuries (training and playing) including type of injuries, frequency of injuries and games missed.

Liaise closely with the Head of Medical Services regarding assessment findings and treatment progression for the players, injury status and progress on a daily basis.

Assist with treatments and prehab/rehab for senior squad as required.

Assist with musculoskeletal screening of all players as required.

Provide match day physiotherapy and pitchside trauma cover for the Academy games.

Maintaining a good working relationship with all key personnel, colleagues and players as well as outside the organisation, in order to support and promote London Irish.

Assist the Head of Medical Services with injury audit, medical insurance and other matters as required.

To keep abreast of current best practices, maintain CPD and take an active role in the departments CPD programme.

To carry out any other duties that may be required by management and are within the post-holders capabilities.
