The Governors of Dorset House School are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to manage, motivate and develop the school so that it fulfils the needs of its pupils, meeting the expectations of parents, staff and Governors. An empathy for and understanding of the ethos of Dorset House is essential.
The role of Head of Dorset House is available (with effect from September 2016) following the appointment, after eight years of outstanding service, of the current Head, Mr Richard Brown, to the Headship of Handcross Park.
Candidates should complete the school’s standard application form (available on our website) and send this, together with a covering letter addressed to the Chair of Governors. Candidates may wish to also provide a CV or additional supporting documents; these will be considered but not in place of the application form.
In the covering letter, candidates should comment on how their experience equips them for the role of Head (as outlined in this Application Pack) and what particular skills and personal qualities they would bring to the role.
Completed applications should be marked private and confidential and addressed to Helen Davies, Bursar & Clerk to the Governors. General enquiries to Sarah O’Brien, Headmaster’s PA, email: sobrien@dorsethouseschool.com
The Closing date for applications is Monday 11th January 2016.
Long-list interviews will be held week commencing 18th January 2016 with short-list interviews the following week.
