Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspects of coaching and coach development is up-to-date and forward thinking
Maintain/Enhance football coaching competence
Monitor and evaluate the Academy playing and coaching philosophy
Ensure there is a ‘multi-disciplinary’ approach to the coaching staff where departments can blend and work seamlessly together
Design and deliver development strategies for coaches based around APP
Create a CPD strategy for the coaching staff and deliver sessions according to this
Ensure the delivery of the Stevenage FC Coach Competency Framework throughout the club
Deliver 1:1 coaching for coaches in order to develop the coach’s skill
Observe coaches and provide suitable feedback to coaches and Technical Board
Provide an up to date training needs analysis (TNA) for entire Academy staff
Build and maintain relationships both inside the club and across football in whole
To complete any other duties as deemed reasonable by the Academy Manager
Qualifications
1 UEFA A licence (Essential)
2 Basic First Aid for Sport (Essential)
3 Advanced Youth Award (Essential)
4 Safeguarding & Child Protection (Essential)
5 PTLLS or Teaching Qualification (PGCE, MSc)
6 FA Licenced Tutor (Desirable)
7 Sports Coaching/Science or Sports Management Degree (Desirable)
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
8 Sound understanding of the role (Essential)
9 Experience working across academy age groups (Essential)
10 Experience working with young professional players (Desirable)
11 Understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) (Desirable)
12 Experience working with elite coaches (Desirable)
13 IT skills to include the ability to use Performance Management Application (PMA) software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook) (Essential)
14 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)
