Based around Basingstoke, Hampshire
Head of Gymnastics
Approx 40 hours per week
Salary based on experience and teaching hours (£23,000-£30,000 pa)
Lynden Dance and Gymnastics are looking for a motivated and committed gymnastics coach to lead our dedicated team working at Basingstoke Sports Centre and within the larger Basingstoke area. We provide recreational and advanced general gymnastics, TeamGym and Acrobatic Dance classes to an agreed syllabus for about 300 children from 3 – 16yrs. We also have a growing competitive TeamGym squad and are looking for an enthusiastic coach who enjoys working with children and has a passion for gymnastics.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, confident and professional, and have excellent customer service skills and be seeking to further their coaching and management career.
Lynden operates classes for 40 weeks each year with additional workshops, camps, displays and events held during the school holiday periods. We operate for seven days each week with classes currently in 6 locations around Basingstoke. We provide on-line class booking systems through customer portals with coach access for class management, emergencies or class attendance, and provide on-line invoicing, payment and financial systems.
The post advertised is Head of Gymnastics under the direction of our Principal, Debbie Palmer. The hours will include coaching of sessions (main duty) and other roles such as coach management, administration and mentoring / developing new and less experienced coaches. Working with the Principal and our Business Manager, the Head of Gymnastics will develop new classes and new venues around the Basingstoke area to ensure the courses remain relevant to our students – allowing them to reach their full potential.

• Proven track record as a general gymnastics coach (other qualifications such as tumbling, TeamGym or dance teaching qualifications an advantage)
• Ability to work successfully as part of a dispersed team
• Ability to support others to develop our gymnasts’ skills and opportunities
• Organised, efficient and committed to developing gymnastics within the school
• Ability to lead and manage others

Applicants will need:
• Gymnastics Coaching Qualification: Minimum Level 2 general/TeamGym/artistic – preferably Level 3
• Membership of British Gymnastics
• To lead 2-4 weekend competitions/displays a year
• To enjoy working with children of all ages
• Excellent communications skills
• Enhanced DBS and Current Safeguarding Certificate
