Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time); weekend and evening work as required
As part of its continuing drive to achieve and maintain excellence in supporting the career and personal development of its members, the League Managers Association is looking to recruit a Head of Performance.
This new role will be a senior leadership position within the LMA and the LMA’s Institute of Leadership of High Performance.
The role will lead the design and delivery of the LMA’s extensive CPD programme, play a significant role in the LMA’s 1-to-1 personal development programme and be the appointed programme lead on a new tailored talent development programme for elite level managers and coaches, in partnership with the Premier League.
The role will suit an individual with significant elite sport and sports performance development experience and will see the individual personally interact with managers and coaches across the men’s and women’s professional game, guiding and supporting them across all areas of their personal development.
The Head of Performance will also engage with all of the game’s stakeholders, LMA commercial partners and the team of LMA leadership and wellbeing experts.
The League Managers Association is the collective, representative voice of all professional football managers from the Premier League, the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet Leagues 1 and 2 and the FA Women’s Super League and Championship.
Overview
Role title: LMA Head of Performance
Reports to: LMA Chief Executive, LMA Strategy Director and LMA Member Services Director
The LMA Head of Performance will:
• Provide high quality expert leadership, performance and personal development insight across all areas of the LMA’s work
• Design and deliver both vocationally relevant and academically rigorous CPD programmes, content and support
• Lead the LMA 1-to-1 support and guidance programmes to LMA members as required
• Lead the LMA’s new personal development programme in partnership with the Premier League
• Work with the LMA’s team of experts, facilitators and consultants to ensure high quality and consistent delivery
• Be responsible for the delivery of the LMA Institute programmes to the LMA’s corporate partners
• Grow and develop relevant industry relationships and partnerships to continue to move the LMA Institute of Leadership and High Performance forward
Skills required:
• Elite level performance, leadership and personal development experience
• Appropriate academic qualifications
• Appropriate industry specific qualifications, e.g. sport psychology, coaching, mentoring, leadership
• Elite level knowledge of professional sport and, ideally, football
• Mentoring and personal development coaching experience
• Lecturing and facilitation experience
• Programme design and delivery experience
• Strong interpersonal and affinity-building skills
• Ability to deliver multiple projects
